How to overcome cravings on a raw food diet – part 2

Posted on 26th January 2012 in Article

If you recall, yesterday the lovely Brian wrote a fabby guest blog about what lies behind emotional and mental cravings.  That was part 1, today is part 2, giving you some juicy infoid on things you can do to deal with those cravings

So what do you do about it?

Well, here’s where I can give you some options.

As I said earlier I help people make good choices all the time and I say the same thing to everyone who has a decision to make, no matter how big or life changing; if this is the totally right choice for you, if you’ve explored it, you know that this is what you want to do and you know it will get you what you want then I say make the decision. Don’t play at it, don’t pretend, stop cocking about and do it 100%. Click here to read more.. »

How to overcome cravings on raw food diet

Posted on 25th January 2012 in Article

Oh man, you guys are gonna love this!  Before we begin, let me say that I know that we can all experience cravings which are purely physical in nature and our body’s innate wisdom is to be trusted.  This post however, is about EMOTIONAL and MENTAL cravings.  You know, when you just gotta have that bag of crisps or bucket of biscuits?  Let’s start with a bit of background…

Back in the early days of my transition to a raw food lifestyle, I found myself having some pretty intense cravings for the ‘bad’ stuff.  It made no sense in my head.  I knew all the raw she-bang.  I knew these foods were not serving me, but yet I felt I had to have them.  It was making me miserable.  No matter how much raw I ate I still felt drawn to the chips, the biscuits, the ice cream!  That’s when I went to see a jolly amazing man called Brian.  Click here to read more.. »

Does being a raw foodist mean you’re destined to be single?

Posted on 21st January 2012 in Article

So I’m single.

I know, I know, crazy isn’t it?  A hot raw mamma like me, back.on.the.shelf.  It’s almost a fucking tragedy.  And I hummed and hawwed (sp?) over whether to have this conversation with you but then I thought, fuck it, there’s an element of having to talk about this what with the whole Me Raw: You Cooked thing.  You know, that book I wrote, about living harmoniously with a non-raw partner?  Yeah, that one. Posted on 19th January 2012 in Review

I’ve been meaning to try Pacari for a while, particularly since they’ve had rave reviews as being a really high quality raw chocolate.  Pacari are an Ecuadorian company, dedicated to making premium quality organic chocolate.

I was a little put off by the price but decided, fuck it, I’m worth £3.99 of orgasmic chocolatey goodness, right?  Click here to read more.. »

Talkin’ raw chocolate with the raw chocolate company

Posted on 19th January 2012 in Interview

1. tell us about how you got in to making your own chocolate.

A long time ago when my son was young I got interested in nutrition.  I started playing around with some recipes, mincing up seeds and dried fruit to make fruit balls for school lunches.  Then I started coating them in chocolate and pretty soon the whole school was eating them! Wild Food Cafe, Neals Yard, London

Posted on 18th January 2012 in Review

I’m in London just now – you’re keeping up with my whereabouts I trust?  Not in a stalky way, you’re not like that.  Unlike my other stalker, who actually turned out to be a great friend.  That’s not an invitation to stalk me, just sayin’ you know, it can happen.  Can’t it?  Probably shouldn’t actively encourage stalkerisation on the blog.  Mum, I’m ok.

raw food new york – scotland stylee (help ma boab)

Posted on 18th January 2012 in Article

I just got back from New York don’t ya know.  Yes.  I’ve started saying asshole and mofo A LOT.  This is irrelevant but any opportunity to swear and be inappropriate on my blog WILL be taken.  You know this.

My god, if I don’t move to New York immediately I’ll literally take my own life just on the off chance reincarnation is a viable additional life option and I’m reincarnated in to some little New York baby body that happens to grow up very quickly so I can go to the raw places.  Sigh.  That plan won’t work will it?  Maybe I’ll just marry a sugar daddy and get him to ship me off to New York then dump him. Hmm.  Needs a bit of work, right? Click here to read more.. »
